Witnessing by AW Tozer
Jesus tells his disciples to remain in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit comes to empower them to be his witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Indeed, “witnessing” is something more than a spiritual discipline. Conversely, the disciples will be his personal witnesses. Witnesses bear testimony about what they know, and in this case it is who they know. As John testifies in his first epistle, “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life, so we bear witness to the God who we know. Witnessing is not possible for those who do not know Christ; and it is strengthened as those who know the Lord grow in love with and knowledge of the One who saved them.
