Sustaining Your Passion For The Lost by Apostle Michael Orokpo

The salvation of souls is at the heart of God’s redemptive plan. Every believer has been entrusted with the responsibility of making Christ known and helping others encounter the Gospel. Yet one of the greatest challenges in soul winning is not knowing that people need Christ—it is maintaining the passion to reach them consistently. God’s desire is that people should be reconciled to Him. The believer must therefore understand that soul winning is not merely a church program or an activity reserved for evangelists. It is an expression of God’s heart. When we understand the value God places on human souls, our attitude toward the lost begins to change. We stop seeing people merely according to their outward appearance, lifestyle, mistakes, or social status. Instead, we begin to see them as people who need the salvation and love of Christ. Passion can diminish when it is not deliberately sustained. A believer may begin his Christian journey with tremendous enthusiasm for evangelism, but disappointment, rejection, busyness, familiarity, or prolonged exposure to worldly distractions can gradually weaken that passion. Therefore, passion for the lost must be intentionally cultivated.
