The Bible clearly states that physical abuse is wrong in all circumstances. The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence his soul hates. The book of Proverbs warns us: Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered. Just a word to any single women out there. Be very careful of the men you date. If you see the warning signs, don’t walk, run away from the relationship before it’s too late. Spousal abuse is a betrayal of the marriage covenant between husband and wife. I hate divorce, says the Lord God of Israel, and I hate a man’s covering himself with violence as well as with his garment, says the Lord Almighty. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your marriage covenant. God calls spousal abuse breaking faith” with your spouse.
