When John uses the term last days, undoubtedly he is speaking about the last days, the days before the second coming of Jesus. In order to properly understand what he is saying we need to put things into perspective. Remember that from the time Jesus told the disciples He would return, devout Christians have always looked for and been desirous of His return in their lifetimes.
