INSTRUCTIONS TO THE UNMARRIED By Bro Gbile Akanni
Marriage is a beautiful union when it is between the right partners. The right partners here does not mean people that are flawless or those that are perfect. It means those that are mature enough to understand God’s dealings and His wills in their lives, those that are mature enough to control their excesses and quench their hunger without compromising morals and virtues, those that are mature enough to cope with other’s mistake without criticizing them beyond the magnitude of their flaws. These and many more qualities made parties right and fitting for each other. As some of them are either financial, emotional and behavoural sense of maturity, most important is the spiritual knowledge of marriage. Many young folks designed personal checklist of qualities and specification they expect from a brother or sister they intend to marry. Most time, the content of the endless list are mere items of temporal euphoria without a sustainable ability to keep the relationship together for a long time. They consider physical appearance above spiritual stature, they consider the physical wealth and affluence without a check on the level of the fruits of the spirit possessed. These mistakes and many others have made a lot of young and vibrant Christian youths to miss thier purposes and God given visions. It is disheartening that destinies are truncated immediately most ladies got married to a wrong man who does not value what they value. Most brother became an object of frustration after marrying the Delilah of their age. All this can be prevented and avoided if only we can learn from the elders and yield to thier advices.
