More than we are eager to learn something new, we must give more attention to what we have been taught. God expects us to be rooted and grounded in what we have been taught. Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. We must review, rehearse, revisit, recall, reflect, remember and always remind ourselves of the words of our salvation and the elements of the gospel which gave birth to us. That is the beauty of giving earnest heed, it let the word takes us over and become real to us. We grow deeper in experience and life. And it becomes difficult to be driven to and fro by winds.
