True Christianity Part 1 & 2 by Apostle Michael Orokpo
Christianity is more than belonging to a church, identifying with a denomination, or participating in religious activities. It is a life that begins with faith in Jesus Christ and develops through spiritual transformation, obedience to God’s Word, and an increasingly intimate relationship with Him. It is possible to become familiar with Christian language, attend services regularly, and participate in religious activities without giving sufficient attention to the transformation God desires to produce within the believer. True Christianity calls for more than outward identification. It involves a genuine response to the gospel, a growing knowledge of Jesus Christ, a renewed mind, and a life increasingly shaped by the principles of God’s Kingdom. The believer must therefore look beyond outward appearances and pursue the inward reality of a life connected to Christ. As we grow in our understanding of Scripture, develop consistent fellowship with God, and practise the principles of our faith, our lives should increasingly reflect the character of Jesus. Self-examination is important because religious familiarity can sometimes create a false sense of spiritual security. A person may become accustomed to Christian environments without paying sufficient attention to the condition of their heart. Click on the link below to listen to this ser…
