No believer can succeed in his or her journey without being in connection with the one who authored the journey. We are what we are because Christ lives in us. Fruitfulness is however required of us. We can only give birth to whom we are in Christ. John 15 raises one singular message about abounding in fruitfulness. in verse 1, Jesus announced himself as the vine and we are the branches. You are not an independent individual. All believers had old lifestyles. We were therefore cut out of our old life and grafted into Christ by the blood of Jesus. If it is not Christ life that is inside of you, whatever fruit you are bearing cannot abide.

The natural life that we were born with cannot bring forth good. we have been grafted/cut off from our natural life first before being grafted into Christ. Gal 5:22 talks about the fruit and not fruit {s}. we can have much fruit, abundant fruit and not fruits. The fruit being talked about here is Christ- like. We have not been called to grow any other fruit. If your fruit is not Christ like, then it is a waste.
