The story of John was narrated in this sermon on how it was said about him by the Angel of the lord before his birth that he shall be great in the sight of the lord. John was born with a prophesy that he will be great which was specified by the Angel. Heaven was aware about the greatness of John, So for every man to be great it must be in the sight of God and not in the sight of men. Heaven only recognize the greatness in the sight of God and not in the sight of men. True greatness is not found anywhere but in the sight of God. The mother of every kind of greatness is the greatness in the sight of God. The greatness in the sight of God requires some level of abstinence. Access to God requires some level of abstinence (there are things we have to abstain from in order to experience God). We cannot e different if we do not do things different from others.
