The Manna the children of Israel ate in the wilderness is figurative of Jesus (the bread of life). The children of Israel were served by flesh pot and they ate the bread. The real desire of the children of Israel was not after the things of the spirit, but after flesh pot. God’s intention for the children was Manna which is the bread but the desire of the children of Israel was after flesh. The importance of the manna is for us to be desirous about the things that does not bring glory to God. Before the manna there was freshness and after the due went us manna was found on the ground.
