Apostle Michael Orokpo teaches about the importance of understanding the season in which a person lives and discovering the dimension of God that must be expressed through that generation. Making a difference is therefore not simply about becoming popular, successful, gifted or recognized. It is about becoming relevant to God’s purpose for your time. A person can possess tremendous gifts and still fail to address the demand of his generation. A person can be highly visible and yet not be relevant to what God is doing. One of the major foundations of the teaching is the concept of seasons. A season is not merely a period represented by dates on a calendar. In the teaching, seasons are connected with particular expressions of God’s purpose. Apostle Orokpo explains that when God created the visible realm, He established realities involving matter, space and time. One of the strongest warnings in the teaching is that a person can operate by the mystery of another season and mistake it for relevance. You may see what God did through someone else and assume that reproducing the same expression automatically means you are making an impact. But God may be requiring something different from your generation. Leadership becomes particularly important when discussing generational impact.
