At salvation we are free from the penalty of sin but as we live the Christian life we gradually begin to be free from the power of sin and at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, we shall be free from the presence of sin. “..yield yourself unto God, as those that are alive from dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God..” (Romans 6:13). You do not overcome the power of sin the first day you surrender your life to Christ, you gain power over sin as you live your life thereafter yielding to God’s pattern of life.
