It is not just the WRITTEN word but the REVEALED word by the wisdom of the Spirit. It is only when you continue in the word of God that you can encounter the character of truth that sets free.  The Holy Spirit is the witness of truth which the father promise us while Jesus was about leaving the earth. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. For you to encounter the truth from Gods word you need the ministry of the Holy Spirit because he is the truth, it will always set men free.
