Transformation is the bridge between salvation and the full experience of God’s purpose. Transformation is more than outward improvement or behavioral modification. It is a deep and thorough change that affects a person’s thinking, character, values, and lifestyle. Apostle Joshua Selman describes transformation as the process through which a believer increasingly reflects the life and nature of Christ. Just as a caterpillar undergoes metamorphosis into a butterfly, believers are called to experience a spiritual metamorphosis through the renewing of their minds. Transformation enables believers to move from potential to manifestation and from spiritual infancy to maturity. Romans 12 teaches that transformation happens through the renewing of the mind. The mind serves as the gateway through which beliefs, decisions, and actions are formed. If a believer’s thinking remains shaped by worldly values, spiritual growth will be limited regardless of sincere faith.
