FAITH AND FORGIVENESS By Rev Sam Adeyemi
The human nature always want to hold on to an offence and seek revenge. Revenge is not by any means the nature of God. It is the desire of man to show how powerful and important he is in response to an assumed embarrassment. People find it difficult to forgive others for many reasons, some thought that they are better than others and therefore are infallible being too smart to offend others. Some on the other hand thoughts what was done wrong against them was too big and the loss was colossal so they can’t forgive the wrong doer and will seek to take revenge. Whichever reason anyone is holding onto, unforgiving is a big spiritual virus that eat up good things from the lives of those that hide it in thier heart. Unforgiving drives men far away from God’s mercy and prevent man from recieving the forgiveness of God. It is important you note that the offenses you hold on to for so long at times does not even bothers the other person any more because they have moved on with life while you are waiting at the same spot for an opportunity to revenge. Here is a detailed teaching on the importance forgiveness and the role it plays in your journey of faith.
