After Haman’s execution, the danger facing the Jews had not completely disappeared. The royal decree authorizing their destruction was still in effect because the laws of the Medes and Persians could not simply be revoked. Esther understood that while one battle had been won, the larger mission of preserving God’s people was still unfinished. Bro. Gbile Akanni emphasizes that believers should not become complacent after experiencing one victory. God desires complete deliverance, not partial freedom. Spiritual maturity requires perseverance until His purpose is fully accomplished. One of the remarkable events in Esther Chapter 8 is Mordecai’s promotion. The king removed Haman’s signet ring and placed it on Mordecai, giving him authority over the affairs of the kingdom. The man who once sat unnoticed at the king’s gate was now elevated to a position of honor and influence. This teaches that true promotion comes from God. Human recognition may be delayed, but God rewards faithful service at the appointed time.
