Preparation for The Last Days by Apostle Michael Orokpo

Apostle Orokpo begins by establishing from Scripture that the Church is already living in the last days. He draws attention to Hebrews 1:1–3, where Scripture speaks of God speaking to humanity through His Son in these last days. He also connects this with Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:16–17. At Pentecost, Peter interpreted the outpouring of the Holy Spirit as the fulfillment of Joel’s prophecy concerning the last days. The implication is important. The last days should not be understood merely as a short period immediately before the physical return of Jesus. The New Testament presents the Church age as belonging to the last-days framework, with believers awaiting the culmination of God’s plan. Therefore, Christians should not live carelessly. We are living in a period that requires spiritual awareness and preparation. One of the strongest statements in the sermon is that believers cannot afford to live in the last days as though they were living in an ordinary season. The reality of Christ’s return should influence the way we make decisions. The last days require believers who are spiritually awake, productive in their calling, capable of enduring trials, willing to invest their resources in God’s Kingdom and committed to making Christ known.
