In this sermon, the meaning of retreat was defined as the pulling back or withdrawing from something that has a negative effect on you. To retreat is a to be at a peaceful or quietness that can afford privacy or security. To retreat is a time of withdrawing from the public and going to a place of privacy. If we don’t engage in privacy with God, we can never increase in spiritual attainment with God. God likes privacy. A retreat is also a period of retirement and seclusion. To remain relevant you must be secluded from the public into the private. A man on fire should keep on fanning the fire in the place he retire and not in the place were he his burning, so a man who will not get tired must remain on fire.
