The Priestly Authority Part 1 by Apostle Michael Orokpo

Apostle Orokpo defines priesthood as a divinely appointed role or function involving two directions of representation. The priest represents: Man before God and God before man. This makes the priest a bridge between two realms. The priest carries the concerns of humanity before God while also carrying the counsel, character and presence of God to humanity. This responsibility makes priesthood an important part of Kingdom advancement. The believer must therefore understand that spiritual authority is not primarily given for personal status. It is connected to representation, service and the advancement of God’s purposes. One of the central teachings of the message is that the New Testament establishes a priesthood that belongs to every born-again believer. First Peter 2:9 describes believers as a chosen generation and a royal priesthood. This means priesthood is not reserved exclusively for a particular class of ministers. Every believer has a priestly responsibility. The difference is that many believers have not developed the consciousness, discipline and spiritual capacity required to function effectively in that priesthood.
